About

Every list you read was paid for.
This one says so.

Almost every ranked list of products on the internet is influenced by money, through advertising, affiliate arrangements, sponsored placement, or a review site’s commercial relationships. Very few of them tell you which parts. The convention is to present a paid position as an editorial judgement and hope nobody asks.

Podium removes the pretence. Position here is bought, the price is published, the total each company has spent is on its card, and anyone who spends more takes the place. There is nothing to disclose because nothing is hidden.

That makes the board honest in a specific and limited way. It is not a ranking of quality, and it does not claim to be. It is a ranking of commitment. What it tells you is which companies believe in themselves enough to pay to be seen, and exactly how much that belief was worth to them. Beside each one, Podium publishes how many people actually clicked through, which is the part money cannot buy.

The mechanism is deliberately simple. Spending accumulates rather than resetting, so money already paid keeps working and defending a position costs less than taking one. Nothing is refunded when someone outspends you. Rankings change only when a payment is confirmed by the payment provider, never when a browser claims success.

Every number on the site is one Podium measured itself. There is no growth score, no influence index, no proprietary rating. Those would be inventions, and inventing metrics is precisely the thing this site exists not to do.

The full mechanism is written out on the rules page, including the parts that are inconvenient.
